The Oasis Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a hard-working team of parents, teachers and administration who want to give our students an opportunity for a great education in Twentynine Palms, California. Through our special events, we provide opportunities for our Bobcat families to connect with their school community and raise funds for resources the District cannot provide. Every year PTO has helped purchase items for the school such as library books and classroom materials. In our current budget crisis the added support parents give with their time and fundraising activities is even more important. PTO is completely run by volunteers who want to make a difference in our children’s lives. Everyone is needed and everyone can make a difference. We greatly appreciate any support you can give! Meetings are announced via this website and notices are sent home with every child. All Parents and Community members are welcome. With your help we can make Oasis Elementary the best school in Twentynine Palms.

Ways You Can Help
School Carnivals In the past, Oasis has tried to have two carnivals a year for our children. The teachers have always been a great support for both the fall and spring festivals. However, the teachers cannot do this alone. These fun events require a lot of manpower. Volunteers are needed in the planning, decorating, set up, and tear down phases as well as in running the many game booths, activities, ticket sales, raffles, and basket auctions. Let us know where you would like to help and we will fill you in on the details.
Book Fairs Book Fair volunteers aid in the set up, decorating, selling, tear down, and clean up at our fall and spring book fairs. The Book Fair committee will assign time slots for the volunteers based on your availability during the week of the fair.
Santa Shop This is a children’s favorite. It cannot happen without the support of parents. The event is run during school hours so teachers cannot assist. Without parents to help set up, work the shop, help the children shop, and tear down the event we cannot offer this event to our students. You may sign up for as many time slots as you wish during this one-week event.
The Bobcat Store The Bobcat Store is a place where your child may shop with Bobcat bucks. Your child earns Bobcat Bucks for good behavior and academic success in his or her classroom. Parent volunteers run the store during school hours. The store is open throughout the year and is always in need of parent volunteers.
Food PTO is in need of food during different events throughout the year. For instance the carnivals have cakewalks and we have provided a potluck “teachers appreciation lunch”. PTO needs names of parents who are willing to provide bake goods or a main dish for events. The food committee may then contact these parents for help during events.
Box Tops for Education General Mills donates 10 cents for every Box Top our school collects and sends in to the company. Box Tops are collected in the classroom and volunteers are needed monthly to collect Box Tops and then twice a year to count and bag the Box Tops that are sent to General Mills for processing.
PTO meetings Unless otherwise noted, meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month at 3 pm in Room 16 at Oasis Elementary. The meetings are open to all parents and local community members. During the meetings, upcoming events are discussed as well as issues concerning our school. Children are welcome at the meetings. We encourage you to attend. Minutes from the meeting are posted on the website for your convenience
